Let's talk about mom fights...

I shared this on my personal facebook page and thought that I would share it with you all as well. This is something that has been on my heart for quite some time and the other night I finally had a moment to share some thoughts on how I feel about the "Mom Fight Trend." We all have differences, but I think the way we confront each other as moms needs to change! We are all on this parenting journey together and we need each other to help build us up when we are down. We don't need the extra kicks when we are feeling low! Please read and know that I am speaking from a place of adoration for...

What surprised me most about being a mom...

I had this vision in my mind of what my life would be like. Single. No kids. Law degree. Then I met a guy, I dated that guy for a short period of time, married that guy after only being together for 6 months, and nine years later we have three kids together + my step son.  When I started hanging around my husband and my step son (my step son was 2 at the time) I think my mind started thinking about how amazing life would be adding some extensions of ourselves to the mix. We start as children proclaiming victory after we have defeated someone in a game, mastered the monkey bars, or learned how to ride a bike without training wheels. We graduate to winning tournaments, competitions, an aced test, passing our driving test... Then we enter the time where a victory could be getting a new car, a new job, graduating college, starting a new business, or buying a house. And then some of us become moms... As a mom we tend to lose our sense of victory. If you asked a handful of moms what their idea of...

Three things mamas need to hear...

Whether you are a mom of 1 or 20, we all need to hear these things... You are doing just fine... I know the feeling - your dishes are starting to pile up, laundry is not folded, the floor needs swept, your kid is still in their pajamas and it's 2 in the afternoon, you're still in your pajamas at 2 in the afternoon... It's okay. It will all get done and even if it doesn't, it will be fine! Everyday you choose your child over your dishes, it's not wasted. Eventually you will see the fruit of your labor and all of these days of "did I even get one thing done today?" will be long gone. Take the...
